Cash App is one of today’s financial technologies I cannot do without. Not only am I able to send money to coworkers through work parties, but also receive money. You can borrow money too, or cash out on Cash App. The best part of it is all these could be done in a few seconds.
This is what I will talk about on this article.
Yes- you do not have to keep your money on Cash App. This includes when borrowing money from Cash App. You are allowed to cash out, whenever you want the cash.
Personally, I do not like to keep more than $50 on the app. I believe any money more than $100 belong to the bank. Hence, why you need to cash out on Cash App every now and then.
What Does Cash Out Means On Cash App?
So, what is cash out on Cash App?
It is a feature which lets you withdraw from the app. You can move the money and transfer to other banks or financial services. Also, you can simply go to an ATM and take out the money through Cash App card. This is as long as you have already gotten a card.
Additionally, you can transfer money from the app to your bank’s debit card. You can only do this though, when a debit card is attached to your account. Anyways, below are how I transfer money out of Cash App.
How To Withdraw Money From Cash App
There are three ways I usually withdraw money from my Cash App account. I usually prefer just getting it into my bank directly. Here is what I want you to do know about the three ways.
1. ATM Withdrawals
You can withdraw money from your Cash App account via an ATM. You just need to have a cash card. If you do not have one, read How To Apply For A Cash App Card article.
The process of Cash App ATM withdrawal is pretty much the same as your normal ATM withdrawal.
- Go to any ATM.
- Insert your cash card into the ATM.
- Enter your pin and follow the ATM’s instructions. You can withdraw how much you want to cash out from your account.
In as much as this is a great way to withdraw money from the financial service, I do not like it. This is because some ATMs may charge you a fee for using them. If you are going to withdraw using your cash card, I would say to go to in-network ATMs.
You can find in-network ATMs on the app. I do not know whether you have seen it before. Do you know how to get to it on the app though?
If not, you could just do the following below to find the nearest Cash App in-network ATMs near you.
- Login to the app.
- Tap on the cash balance sign on the bottom left.
- Drag down the top of the app, until you can see a page with your card.
- Scroll down until you see Find an ATM. Tap on it. It is under Spending.
- It will tell you something about spending about $300 monthly to get the green status. Tap on Cash withdrawal and you will be taken to the map showing nearest ATMs.
Some of these ATMs may charge you $2.50 as a fee. However, you get this fee reimbursed when you spend $500 or receive $300 monthly on your Cash card. Also, the ATM withdrawals may have a limit on them.
2. Bank Transfer
You can withdraw money from Cash App without card. Actually, this is my preferred method of cash out. This is because you can complete the process within a minute.
The best part of it is the money becomes available in your bank account within minutes. So, how to transfer money from Cash App to my bank?
- Login to your Cash App account.
- Tap on the cash balance sign on the bottom left of the app.
- Below your cash balance, tap on Withdraw. You will be asked to enter the amount you want to cash out.
- Enter the amount and tap on Continue. The amount you choose will be sent to the bank account connected to your Cash App account.
Finally, this is all it takes for me to transfer money from Cash App to my bank. As previously mentioned, this is my preferred method since it is less stressful. At least, I do not have to get out of my house for it.
Oh, I fail to mention. This method works too, if you have your bank’s debit card attached to your account. You can cash out and have the money sent to the debit card. I just thought you would like to know, just in case you connected a different debit card other than your cash card.
3. Cash Transfer To Other Apps
You can withdraw money from Cash App and send it to other financial technologies. By financial technologies, I mean the likes of Chime, Venmo, PayPal and so on. If you have a Chime account, you can send money from Cash App to Chime instantly.
I talked about it on the blue highlighted article above. Not going to discuss it on this article, but I just thought you would like to know about it.
Anyways, this process of cashing out on Cash App only works when you have the other financial service debit card attached to your account. That way, when you follow the steps to cash out. You simply select the debit card, rather than your bank account or bank card. It is that easy.
How Much Does Cash App Charge To Cash Out
Cash App will charge you to withdraw money. It depends on your preferred method of cashing out. What do I mean by this, my dear reader?
Firstly, the financial service will charge you a $2.50 fee for ATM withdrawals. Unless you have a green status, this will be pretty much any ATM. I do not know if you knew, but getting a green status requires you spending $500 or more. I do not know about you, but I do not spend that much.
Next, you will not be charged a fee when you withdraw directly to a bank’s debit card or account. You have to wait for 1 to 3 days though. Otherwise, Cash App will charge you a 0.5% to 2.5% fee for an instant transfer to your bank.
Personally, I like instant transfer. I do not know about you, but I want my money as soon as possible. If you could wait a few business day to have your funds, I would say to wait. Anyways, that is how Cash App cash out fee works.
How Much Can You Withdraw From Cash App
There is a limit to how much you can withdraw from the app. The ATM withdrawals have limits, but the cash out to debit card or bank account does not have a limit to it. What do I mean by this, my good reader?
Well, Cash App cash out by ATMs has a limit of $1000 per week. If you ever reach the limit, it resets on Saturday around 7pm. Also, this limit will be lower when you have previously got money off the app by other means. So, I would like you to be aware before trying to get up to $1000 in a week.
On the whole, what I mentioned here is how I always withdraw money from . You do not have to do it, because I believe the service pays interest rate on qualifying cash on your account. But if you really have to cash out, the above are how to go about it.
