current mobile check deposit

Current is one of the banks which allow mobile deposits. You can easily take a picture of your check and upload it to your account. As a first-time bank customer, you are not allowed to use the Current mobile check deposit. You need to get a deposit from another source, before this feature is open for you.

In the same note, Current has some checks which it does not accept. The following checks below will not be accepted and deposited, if you ever attempt to deposit them:

  • Money orders.
  • Cashier’s checks.
  • Checks from third parties which do not have your name on it.
  • Checks which have been cashed, expired or have illegible items on it.
  • International checks.
  • Old checks with age greater than 6 months old.
  • Checks dated in the future
  • A photocopy of a check.
  • Promissory notes.

None of these will deposit, when you attempt to mobile deposit them on Current. This is because it is against the bank’s policy. I supposed it is avoid liability issues. Besides, there could be consequences for depositing a bad check Current bank does not want.

How Does Current Mobile Check Deposit Work?

Current mobile check deposit is easy, since the app is easy to navigate. All you need to do is to open the app and follow the instructions below.

  • Tap on the dollar sign on the bottom of the app.
  • Tap on Deposit a check.
  • Put the amount on the check you want to deposit and tap on Next.
  • Tap Add image. Take a picture of your check on dark background. Be sure to all the edges of the check appear.
  • Confirm and your check deposit will be submitted.

Be sure to endorse your check on the back before the online check deposit. By endorsing a check, I mean sign the back of it. Otherwise, there may be a delay in the check depositing on your Current account.

How long does mobile deposit take current bank?

Current mobile check deposit time depends on when you deposit the check. Current is not one of the banks with instant mobile deposit funds availability. This is because it takes about three to five business days for your funds to be available on your account. It might even take longer, when there is an issue with the check you deposited.

Also, it is worthwhile to know that current mobile check deposit time affects check processing time. Check deposits after 4pm will be processed the next business day. If you deposit a check after 4pm on Friday, it will start processing on Monday. The same goes with online check deposit made on holidays.

As time goes on, you may be eligible to cash check online instantly on Current. You may have to reach out to the support center about it. I do not know what the criteria is, so a Current bank customer representative can check your deposit history and let you know whether you qualify for an instant check deposit.

If you are looking for a mobile check deposit with an instant fund availability, you can use these 5 Easy Instant Mobile Check Deposit Apps rather than Current. This is especially, when you are in a hurry to have access to your money.

Deposit Limit You Should Be Aware Of

Current mobile deposit limit has three tier deposit limits. It has a transaction, daily and monthly limits on its account. You can only do $500 per transaction. Your daily transactions per day will be up to $1000. Finally, you cannot exceed $10,000 in a month in cash transactions.

With regards to check deposits, additional questions should be directed to the bank’s customer care. They will be sure to help you out. I recommend clarifying any confusion about Current mobile deposit limit, before any huge online check deposit.

How Do I Cancel A Check Deposit On Current?

Generally, you can cancel deposits made from another institution linked to your account. This is as long as it is done before 4pm on the same day. Otherwise, it will not possible to cancel. This is because after 4pm is when deposits begin processing.

It is hard to stop, once the deposit starts processing. Do you understand?

With respect to current mobile check deposit, you cannot cancel a check once you have deposited it. You would think since current mobile check deposit is not instant, one would still be able to cancel it but this is not the case. Another option would be to contact Current bank and see what they can do for you.

On the whole, the key to a smooth mobile deposit on Current is following its policy. If not, you may run into issues trying to deposit a check on the online bank. I believe doing everything I mentioned on this Current mobile check deposit review will help you avoid these issues.

Note: If Current bank mobile check deposit time does not work for you, you can check out these 8 best check cashing apps for Instant cash. Your check fund will be made available to you within a few minutes after deposit. Some of these apps are what I used, when I feel like my bank will wait three business days to make my check fund available to me.
