How To Use CashApp To Send & Receive Money Instantly

Cash App is an online financial service by BLOCK INC. Its service makes easy for anyone to use the app to send and receive money instantly, rather than going to bank. You save money and time using this service for money transactions.

What is unique about Cash App, good reader?

It is a peer to peer instant mobile money service. What this means, is the other person involved needs to have a Cash App account to send or receive money within seconds. Besides the above mentioned, here are other things you need to know about Cash App.

How Does Cash App Work Exactly

Firstly, you have to create a Cash App account. This enables you to login and use the app’s features. It is worthwhile to note you have to be at least 18 years and a U.S resident to sign up for Cash App. This is a restriction in place for most financial products and services in the United States.

Creating A Cash App Account

It is easy to set up a Cash App account. Here is what you need to do:

  1. Download the app from Apple or Google store.
  2. Launch Cash App.
  3. Enter your phone number or email address. After this, a confirmation number will be sent to either one of the two choices.
  4. Enter the code sent to your phone or email address.
  5. The next page will ask for you to add a bank using your debit card. It is optional. You can skip this step, if you are not comfortable. Cash App will ask your first and last name on the next page.
  6. Enter your first and last name. You will be taken to the next page, which will ask you to choose a $Cashtag. This is what you use to receive money. Anyone who has this can send you money instantly.
  7. Create your $Cashtag. You will be asked to enter your zip code.
  8. Enter your zip code. And, you are set to go!

You can now receive money from people. To send money to people, you need to link a debit card or credit card though. Otherwise, this is how you open a new Cash App account.

Sending Money By Cash App

To use Cash App to send money, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on the dollar sign on the bottom of the app. A keypad with numbers will appear.
  2. Input the amount you want to send and hit “Pay”.
  3. The next page should ask the name of the person you want to send the money too. Further, there is a space for you to leave a note about the transaction. Lastly, there are three options on the type of money you want to send. There is a cash, stock or Bitcoin payment.
  4. Choose an option and hit “Pay” on the top right side of the app to send the money.

Alternatively, you can scroll down the contacts on your Cash App to choose one. This is only when you already have the person on your contact. If not, you have to put the full name, $cashtag or email address on Step 3 to send the money to them.

You can send money through Cash App using these ways.

Cash App Limit On Sending Money

There is a Cash app limit on sending money to people. You can only send $250 weekly as an unverified user, but this can be increased when additional information is added on your account. By additional information here, I refer to your legal name, last four of your social security number and date of birth.

Once this additional information is added, you will be considered a verified user. Cash App will let you send up to $7,500 to anyone instantly. This is as long as he or she is in the same country as you.

Receiving Money By Cash App

You can receive money with Cash App. It is the new craze nowadays. This is the selling point of the app. Not only can you send money through Cash App, but also you can receive money without a bank account or debit card in place.

This is until, it is time to either use or have the fund transferred to your bank account. It is pretty cool, is it not?

To receive money on Cash App for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. Give your cash id to the person about to send you money. Your id could be $cashtag, full name or email address. It is the only way such a person can send the money to the right account. Once the person sends the money, it will appear instantly on your account for you to cash out or use.
  2. Another way to receive money is to request money. Go to the dollar sign on the bottom of the app. Input the amount you want. Hit “Request” and you will be directed to another page where you put the name of the person you are requesting money from.
  3. If the person sends you money, it will appear the same way as any other person sending you money.

Additionally, you can connect your bank account or debit card to have Cash App wire the money straight to your bank account or debit card. I will be coming to this shortly.

Meanwhile, check out how to deposit a check on your cash app instantly. Cash app can receive and deposit your check in a matter of minutes. This is unlike banks, which take one to three business days to deposit checks.

Cash App Receiving Limits

There is a limit on Cash App transfer. You can only send $1000 monthly. This is as an unverified user. By an unverified user, I mean any user who does not have their full name, date of birth and the last four digits of their social security number on file.

On the other hand, a verified Cash App account can send more than $1000 monthly. Keep reading, because I will discuss more in detail under the heading attributed to this issue.

Cash App Transactional Limits

Earlier on, I briefly mentioned about the Cash App limits on sending and receiving money. Here is a full summary of what you need to know about Cash App limits on transfers.

As an unverified user, the service will only let you send $250 per week and receive up to $1000 monthly. But when you are verified, you can increase your Cash App transactional limit to the following:

  • Cash App limit on sending money can be increased to $7500 weekly and $17500 monthly.
  • Cash App receiving limit after verification is unlimited.

Obviously, you can derive better service as a verified user than an unverified user. Do not worry about your personal information leaking after verification. Cash App is a secure money service.

If you are worried about attaching your debit card to the app, you can get Cash App Card. Here is what you need to know about Cash App card. You can always load money into it and use it whenever you want, instead of using your bank’s debit card.

In conclusion, this is a good app for any working class adult to use for monetary transactions. It bypasses the hassles associating with banking business. This is especially, if you need to send or receive money urgently.
