What exactly do you need to add money on your Chime card?
You will need the Chime Visa debit card and some cash for this kind of transaction. Most Chime loading locations will charge you a fee to load money on Chime card. However, not all Chime retail locations charge a fee for this kind of transaction.

1. Walgreens
You can add money on your Chime card for free at more than 8500 Walgreens locations. All you have to do, is walk in and tell the Cashier that you would like to load your card. Be sure to take your Chime Visa debit card with you.

To reiterate, Walgreens does not charge to put money on a Chime card. I recommend going with a legal form of identification though, since this is a financial transaction. The transaction process has always been quick and stress free.
Finally, there is a $20 minimum deposit. What this means, is you cannot deposit any amount less than $20 in your Chime card. Having said that, here is what to know about the second place that does not charge to add money into your Chime card.
2. Duane Reade
Duane Reade store is another way of putting money on Chime card for free. The store locations are only located in the States of New York and New Jersey. Sometimes, you may find the store under the Walgreen brands. This is because it was bought by Walgreens.
Just like Walgreens, all you have to do is walk into the store and tell the cashier you would like to deposit cash into your Chime card. They will ask for your Chime Visa debit card and the cash amount you want to deposit into your account. Provide these and your cash deposit will instantly be made available to you.
On the whole, putting money on Chime card at these two locations are free. You will not be charged a penny for the above service rendered. As usual, I recommend you take a legal form of identification with you. This is just in case the cashier asks for it, since this is a monetary transaction involving a debit card and an online bank account.
Other Stores that Load Money On Chime Card
The following stores below will load cash on your Chime card for a convenience fee. Most of them are found nationwide in almost every state and city in the United States. Having said that, here is what to know about these other places to reload your Chime card.
1. Dollar General
Dollar General loads Chime card. You can do this in any of its retail locations. You can simply walk into a store location with Chime debit card. Then, tell the cashier you want to load your Chime card. Finally, give the cash amount you want to deposit.

How Much Does Dollar General Charge To Load Chime Card?
You can add money to Chime card at Dollar General stores from $1.50 to up to $3.95. I recommend calling your local Dollar General to confirm before heading out to perform the transaction. It will save you time and resources.
2. HEB
If you are in Texas, you can easily go to an HEB store to load a Chime card. HEB charges about $4.05 for the transaction. All you need is a legal form of identification and your Chime Visa debit card. Finally, HEB accepts either a debit card or cash as forms of payment.
3. Walmart
You add cash to a Chime card at Walmart. The store giant is one of the Chime cash deposit partner locations with more than 4500 store locations. Here is what you need to do to load a Chime card at Walmart.
- Go to the money center (or customer service).
- Tell the cashier you want to load cash on your Chime card.
- Give him or her your Chime Visa debit card and amount you want loaded.
- Pay the fee for the service.

How Much Does Walmart Charge To Load Chime Card?
Walmart charges $3.74 or less to load a Chime card. This is charged per card load. Also, you are only allowed three transactions per day. Be sure to call your Walmart location to inquire method of payment, prior to heading out to add cash in your Chime account.
4. Pilot Travel Centers
Pilot Travel Centers are one of the most versatile travel network in the US and Canada. They have more than 750 centers which perform Chime card reloads. Here is what you need to know though.
There is a 3% transaction fee charged for depositing money on a Chime card at Pilot Travel Centers. It depends on the location. Some locations may charge a range of $3.95 to $4.95 fee. I recommend you call ahead first, prior to going to any of its branches.
When it comes to the maximum amount you can load on your card there, you are only allowed $500. You cannot load anything below a $20 amount. This is the same as most of these stores I have already mentioned.
5. 7-Eleven Store
You can load your Chime card at 711 convenience stores. There are about 13,000 of these stores in the United States. It may seem like a little convenience store, but those little stores cover 38 US states and territories. So, that tells you right there it is one of the easiest Chime cash deposit locations to find.
How Much Does 7-Eleven Charge To Load Chime Card?
7-Eleven charges $3 to load Chime card. It seems to be the cheapest place to load Chime card, besides Walgreens and Duane Reade. Your money may take 5 to 30 minutes to become available. All locations are not the same, when it comes to fund availability.
6. CVS
Loading a Chime card at CVS is easy. All you need is a legal form of identification, the amount you want to load and your Chime card. Here is what you need to do:
- Locate a CVS location
- Walk in and tell the cashier you want to perform a Chime transaction.
- You will be asked for your ID, Chime card and the amount you want to put into your Chime card.
- After the transaction, you will be asked to pay a fee. I always recommend to have the fee in cash too. Best to inquire first, before doing the loading transaction. This is because fees may vary from state to state.
CVS charges $4.95 to load a Chime card. If you could go to Walgreens, I would recommend it. This is especially, when the amount you are trying to load is not much.
On the whole, choosing where you can load a Chime card depends on the cost of the transaction fees and proximity of Chime load locations. The above stores should help you out. If not, here are other nationwide stores that may provide you the same convenience and service you need.
