If you are an avid traveler like me, you know it is very expensive making a call to the US from abroad. Most cellular networks will charge you an arm and a leg for international roaming, but not Mint mobile. Mint mobile is designed to work internationally to save on calls abroad.
This is because of the cheap deals it has for anyone traveling internationally trying to make a call to the United States. Mint mobile international roaming cost makes it easy to talk to family members and friends without worrying about paying a lot of money. Here is how it works.
How Mint Mobile International Plans Save You Money
Mint mobile has international service that lets you purchase cheap deals for 1, 3 and 30 days length. It is called Minternational pass. It allows you to make calls, text and access high speed internet while traveling to 180 countries.

Below are some major international plans from Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.

Compared to the three major American mobile carriers above, Mint is really the cheapest way to use a mobile phone overseas. Would you agree, my dear reader?
Mint mobile international roaming plans compete with these major mobile carriers to save you on calls abroad. I know the major American mobile carriers may cover more countries, but Mint’s 180 countries for as little as $5, is not bad at all.
Does Mint Mobile Work In Europe?
Does Mint mobile work internationally in places like Europe?
Mint mobile international coverage includes Europe. There are 44 countries in Europe. To see whether the country you are traveling is eligible for Mint mobile international pass, here is what to do.
- Go to Mint mobile international countries.
- Click on check for eligible countries.
- Select the country you are interested in. The carrier will tell you whether its Mint mobile international plans will work in the country.
I suggest you do this to see Mint mobile international coverage, prior to purchasing any of the plans. This is so as to avoid having issues, when you get to your destination. Most issues with international roaming arise, when you do not verify before purchasing a plan.
Finally, you can also use the same address for checking on countries outside of Europe. Mint mobile has international services in more than 180 countries. Chances are the country you are traveling to, may be one of these 180 countries.
How To Activate A Mint International Plan
Just because Mint mobile works outside the US, does not mean you just use your line the same as you do in the States. You have to set up the international roaming service before you reach your destination. Here is what I think you need to first.
Firstly, you have to be a Mint mobile subscriber. If you are not, I recommend you read Is Mint Mobile Good For Wireless Savings for how to go about it. Secondly, you do not need to buy another line to use this plan as a current mint subscriber. Your current line will do just fine.
Now, Mint mobile can be activated internationally by doing the following below:
- Login into your Mint app or website to do it. Or simply, text ACTIVATE to 6700.
- Turn on data roaming prior to activation.
Once activated, be sure to use the plan before it is expired. It expires after the length of period you purchase. I recommend activating the international pass, before you leave the United States. That way, you can easily troubleshoot activation issues.
How would you know your Mint international pass is active?
Just text “GOROAM” to 6700. A text will arrive confirming it is active. You can also do this via the Mint app or website. If you are having additional problems, I recommend reaching out to their customer representatives at (800) 683-7392. They will help you troubleshoot issues.
Is the Mint International Pass Worth It?
The fact Mint mobile can be used internationally at affordable rates shows it is a growing giant amongst modern American wireless service providers. Personally, I think Mint international pass is worth it. This is because it offers an hour to 8 hours of calls abroad for as little as $5 to $15 per plan.
It is hard to beat these rates. This is because you have control over the rates, since they are prepaid. Given the affordability, Mint mobile can save you a lot of money while you travel internationally.
Hence, why I would recommend any young working class adult to use Mint during international travels. This is especially, when your current wireless provider does not match Mint’s rates. At least, try it out and let me know whether it is a good experience for you.
