Does QuikTrip Do Money Orders Without Issues?

Quiktrip sells money orders. The best thing about QT is there are about 1025 QuikTrip Locations in the United States of America. The store has locations in 17 out of the 50 States with Texas having 24% of all its locations.

Before we proceed, here are the states with Quiktrip stores so as not to waste your time.

  • ALABAMA
  • ARIZONA
  • ARKANSAS
  • COLORADO
  • GEORGIA
  • ILLINOIS
  • IOWA
  • KANSAS
  • LOUISIANA
  • MISSISSIPPI
  • MISSOURI
  • NEBRASKA
  • NORTH CAROLINA
  • OKLAHOMA
  • SOUTH CAROLINA
  • TENNESSEE
  • TEXAS

If your state is not mentioned here, then read Where Else To Get A Money Order Easily for other places to buy a money order. Having said that, Quiktrip is known to sell western union money order. But, they will not cash one from outside of its stores.

How Much A Money Order At Quiktrip Cost

So, how much does a Qt money order cost?

The cost of a Quiktrip money order is $1.50 per $300. Depending on which QT location you go to, there is either a daily limit of $900 or $1000. So, be sure to call the store first, before heading out to buy one.

In addition, be sure to take cash with you for QT money order payment. Just like most gas stations that sell money orders, QuikTrip will not accept credit card for payment. You are better safe going with cash, than being rejected because you want to make payment with a credit card or a debit card.

What Time Does Quiktrip Stop Selling Money Orders?

Quiktrip is a 24 hours and 7 days a week convenience store. However, it does not mean this availability extends to money order transactions. Quicktrip stops doing money orders around 10pm.

Basically, a money order transaction at QuikTrip starts at 7am and ends around 10pm. These hours of money order operation includes the weekend too. By the weekend, I mean Saturdays and Sundays. Outside of these hours, the convenience store is open but you cannot purchase a money order.

QuikTrip Money Order Refund Policy

In case of a loss or expired money order from Quiktrip, it can be refunded since it is a Western Union money order. But, this is what you need to know about QuikTrip Money Order refund policy.

You will be charged a non-refundable $15 fee. You will need to fill out a Western Union Customer Request Form online and take it with you to the QuikTrip store. The refund process will begin when you show your receipt of purchase. Your case will be processed faster with an original purchase receipt.

I explained in detail on requesting a Western Union refund on How To Request A Western Union Money Order Refund article. You may want to read it, since it goes in details on what not to do in order to avoid a delay in your refund process.

On the whole, buying a money order from Quiktrip is easy. The amount you can purchase though, is limited since you cannot purchase more than $1000. You can by pass this limit, by purchasing multiple money orders. But, this will mean cashing multiple QT money orders at places that cash Western Union money orders.

If you are looking to purchase a money orders above the limit set by Quiktrip, you can check out the articles I mentioned earlier. They not only list of places that will help you, but also the varying amounts they charge for their money orders.
